Beaumes de Cassis
Fragrance notes
A painter’s studio in late afternoon, sun cutting across an open window. On the worktable sits a shallow bowl of just sliced blood orange and a handful of dark, slightly tart red berries. The air is not sugary. It is bright, juice drawn across the skin, softened by the green, apricot-like floral lift of osmanthus and the quiet, honeyed weight of boronia. The fruit never becomes a candy. It stays textured, the way real fruit smells when it is warm. A resinous, almost coniferous thread of balsam fir moves through the base, not as a sharp pine, but as a calm, golden resinous smoke that keeps the florals from feeling too soft. Benzoin adds a smooth, sweet resin that holds the citrus and woods together without turning heavy. It is a moment of light and resin, fruit and flower, where nothing is exaggerated. Fruity, floral, citrus, sweet, fresh, soft spicy, woody, fresh spicy.
