Our take

Banana flower opens with a creamy, faintly tropical sweetness that sidesteps the usual fruity clichés, more green stem than syrupy pulp. Jasmine unfurls quickly, but it is a restrained, powdery jasmine, not the indolic diva of grand florals. The dry down sees amber and sandalwood rounding things out into a soft, warm base that wears close to the skin. The whole composition feels like a pressed flower you found in an old book: delicate, pretty, and already beginning to fade.

This is undeniably a daytime scent, a spring or summer companion for a brunch where you want to smell pleasant without announcing yourself from across the room. The longevity barely scratches three hours, and the sillage is a whisper, which is a shame because the balance of fruity, floral, and woody powdery accords is genuinely well blended by Sonia Constant. It smells natural enough, not synthetic or screechy, but it stays firmly in the mainstream lane, pleasant and inoffensive.

Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a light, sunny floral that doesn’t demand attention. Who should skip it? Those who value projection or endurance. Its rating of 4.02 suggests general approval, but the numbers on longevity and sillage tell the real story. This is a fragrance you wear for an afternoon, not a full day. Reapply freely.
