Our take

Haruka Sorayori opens with a cool rush of pine and lime that feels like stepping into a mountain forest after a rain. The bergamot brightens the greenery without turning sweet, keeping the entrance crisp and clean. This is not a citrus splash that vanishes in minutes. It is a resinous green that settles quickly into something grounded and serious.

The heart brings jasmine and juniper together with hinoki wood and cardamom. The jasmine stays quiet, lending a soft floral lift rather than dominating the blend. Juniper adds a sharp herbal edge that plays well against the warm spice of cardamom. Hinoki wood gives the center of the fragrance a smooth, pale timber character that feels both ancient and modern.

Composed by Yasuyuki Shinohara, the base is a dense collection of vetiver, frankincense, nard, myrrh, and oud. The resins create a thick, balsamic warmth that surrounds the dry wood of the vetiver and oud. It smells like standing inside a wooden shrine while sunlight streams through the open doors and lights up the dust in the air.
