Someone who wants a modern masculine that skips both barbershop cologne and heavy oud will land on Percival fast. Lavender and mandarin orange open bright and a touch sweet, bergamot and geranium keeping it crisp and clean, with pink pepper adding a small bite. Cardamom and cinnamon warm the heart alongside violet and jasmine, and hedione gives that stretch a sheer, radiant lift that keeps the spice light rather than sharp.
The base is where Percival earns its keep, and it is built with real care. Ambroxan and amberwood build a smooth, translucent amber glow, ambroxan in particular giving it that clean, radiant edge so many modern amber woods lean on. Balsam fir adds a cool, resinous edge, clearwood keeps the woods pale and clean, and tonka closes it out with a soft, faintly sweet warmth. Musk ties the whole base together into something that feels closer to skin than to cologne, and this stage settles in and stays long after the citrus opening is gone, holding its form through ordinary wear without turning heavy.
Its presence stays modest, a warm cloud around the collar more than a scent reaching the next desk, easy to wear to work without a second thought. What lingers longest is that woody base, smooth and just sweet enough to feel finished.
