Istanbul
Fragrance notes
Character
Istanbul by Proad smells like a narrow street after the sun disappears. Coffee and raspberry sit side by side here, the fruit brightening the bitter roast without turning it into a pastry. Styrax and labdanum add a thick resinous weight that feels physical against the skin. Elemi resin and incense bring a dry, pale edge that keeps the heavier materials from becoming flat. Ginger sparks briefly through the middle, a sharp flicker against the surrounding dark.
Rose and tobacco share space with benzoin and musk, the flower lending a soft petal texture to the smoke and the leaf. The sweetness in the blend is deep and resinous rather than sugary, anchored by amber and balsamic tones that feel close and warm. It suits someone who enjoys spice and smoke more than clean citrus or pale woods. It will feel out of place in a bright room with open windows and plenty of daylight.
The best setting is a dim courtyard where stone still holds the day's heat and voices are low. Wear it when the air feels cool and the evening stretches ahead with no fixed end. The composition keeps shifting between fruit, resin, and smoke, each material pulling the scent in a slightly different direction as you move through the night
