Grand Cuir
Fragrance notes
Character
Birch and clary sage open Grand Cuir with a dry, resinous snap that feels like stepping into a workshop where wood shavings cover the floor. Labdanum brings a warm, amber weight that keeps the opening from feeling thin, though the scent stays near the body rather than pushing outward. The lavender and violet leaf in the heart soften the resin with a cool, green touch that lingers for a reasonable span without demanding constant attention.
Carnation and cinnamon add a gentle heat to the middle, while geranium and tarragon keep the blend firmly in the aromatic lane. Rose and orange blossom appear in small measure, offering a floral hint that never overtakes the leathery, herbal core. Pine and moss in the base recall a walk through a damp forest where fallen needles cushion each step, and patchouli anchors the blend with an earthy depth that feels grounded.
Sandalwood and palisander rosewood round out the drydown with a smooth, woody finish that suits a heavy wool coat and the quiet of a fogged morning. Musk ties the final stage together, leaving a clean, skin-like impression that stays close. Grand Cuir wears like a well-worn leather journal resting on a cedar table, its pages filled with notes written in ink that has long since dried.
