Our take

Bullshit opens with a bright, prickly spray of tangerine and grapefruit that immediately meets the heat of Sichuan pepper. The citrus is juicy but the pepper gives it a sharp bite, so the first impression is energetic rather than sweet. Lavender and lily-of-the-valley arrive early, softening the edges without calming the blend completely. Rose sits in the background, adding a gentle floral weight that keeps the top notes from feeling like a standard shower gel. The aromatic accord is clear here, giving the early stage a clean, upright posture that feels deliberate.

As it develops, the vanilla and tonka bean move forward, but they are held in check by guaiac wood and a sheer layer of musk. The sweetness is present, yet it never becomes heavy or cloying. Instead, the fragrance settles into a warm, amber-tinged floral that carries a faint spicy hum from the pepper still lingering below. It smells like sunlight hitting a city pavement, where the air is dry and the day is already in full swing. The white floral notes blend so closely with the vanilla that the line between them blurs.

The composition is busy, with many elements competing for attention at once. Citrus, spice, florals, and amber all occupy the same space, so no single facet gets room to breathe. It can feel crowded rather than complex, especially when the lavender and rose overlap with the vanilla. The name suggests a wink, but the blend takes itself seriously enough that the humor does not quite carry through the entire wear. The result is a fragrance that tries to cover every angle at once and loses some clarity in the process.
