Fragrance notes
Shafaq opens with a bright, acidic grapefruit that cuts through the dry heat of saffron. The spice is present but does not overwhelm the citrus, allowing the top to feel sharp and clean rather than heavy. Moving into the heart, the leather arrives with a firm texture, supported by the damp, mineral quality of truffle. Violet and rose sit alongside the leather, adding a powdery floral softness that prevents the center from becoming too rugged. The rose stays muted, while the violet lends a gentle, cosmetic air to the composition.
The base brings patchouli and vetiver together with cashmeran and oud, creating a dense woody foundation that feels earthy and slightly resinous. The oud adds a deep, smoky weight without turning medicinal, and the cashmeran smooths the edges of the sharper vetiver. The overall profile is warm, spicy, and distinctly leather-driven throughout its development. The fragrance maintains a consistent personality from the first spray to the final drydown. The powdery accord is quite strong here, and combined with the prominent violet, the scent may feel too dusty or old-fashioned for those who prefer clean, transparent compositions.
