Our take

Pink pepper gives Love a brief, dry spark at the start, and African orange flower follows with a citrus-blossom sweetness that fades fast into an enormous floral heart: iris, lilac, hyacinth, heliotrope and wisteria all layered on top of each other. No single flower gets to lead for long, and the effect is closer to a mixed bouquet than a portrait of any one bloom.

Rice and powdery notes in the base are what give the fragrance its real identity, soft and slightly starchy, like the inside of a clean cotton shirt, with musk holding the whole thing together. Iris carries most of the weight in that base too, cool and a little dusty against the sweeter florals above it.

It stays put once applied, and the sillage reaches whoever you're talking to without pushing past that circle, an intimate scale that fits its powdery, indoor character. Spring, fall and winter all suit it, and daytime hours are when it earns its keep most, given how soft the whole composition stays from start to finish. Wear it to work, to lunch, anywhere a floral needs to stay polite rather than take over the room.
