Love Story
Fragrance notes
Character
Neroli, pear, bergamot, grapefruit and lemon crowd the opening of Love Story, a full citrus bouquet that comes across bright and slightly green before it settles. Orange blossom and stephanotis carry the heart into white-flower territory, with rose adding warmth and peach bringing back a touch of the opening's fruit, while black currant gives the whole middle a faint tartness.
Musk, cedar, cashmirwood and patchouli anchor the base, soft and woody rather than heavy, keeping the fragrance light on its feet even as it deepens. Anne Flipo composed Love Story for Chloé, and the through-line from citrus to white flower to soft wood feels deliberate, each stage handing off cleanly to the next.
It performs at an average clip, felt steadily across a good part of the day before it recedes, and the sillage holds to a modest, near presence, mostly noticed by the wearer and by whoever stands close enough to talk. This is a bright, easygoing daytime floral, well suited to a lunch date or a casual outing in daylight, easy to wear without much drama, and pleasant enough that it rarely draws a second thought from anyone who catches it.
