Our take

Hemera opens with a bright, tart rush of lime peel and lemon verbena, softened immediately by a juicy slice of pineapple. The citrus feels fresh rather than sharp, and it carries a green edge that keeps the fruit from leaning into candy. As the initial spray settles, jasmine and lily rise up with a clean, slightly soapy elegance, while pink lotus adds a faint watery shimmer that prevents the white florals from feeling heavy or cloying.

The drydown is where the character deepens. Creamy vanilla and smooth amyris meet cedar and palisander rosewood, creating a polished wood interior that feels warm and inviting. Oakmoss and musk pull the sweetness toward something earthier and more grounded, giving the fragrance a powdery finish that sits close to the skin. It is the scent of a wool coat thrown over a silk blouse while walking through a garden after rain, when the air is cool and the ground still smells of damp earth.

Gallagher Fragrances composed Hemera with a clear hand, but the pineapple can become a little too prominent in the early stage if you apply a heavy hand. It threatens to tip the entire composition into a tropical direction that clashes with the mossy base. Anyone who prefers a strictly clean citrus without that sunny, candied fruit facet may find the opening difficult to enjoy.
