Character
Walk into a room wearing This is not Caffeine and the air changes before you sit down. Hormone Paris builds the opening around caramel and cinnamon, then cools the heat with peppermint and coconut while sage keeps the sweetness from turning heavy. The heart pulls the composition toward coffee and tonka bean, with ginger adding a sharp bite and jasmine softening the edges just enough. Cypriol grounds the middle before the base arrives with vanilla absolute, benzoin, cedar, ambergris and a distinct leather note that gives the whole blend a slightly rough texture. The scent carries well through a crowded space and stays on the skin for many hours, so one application is enough for a long evening out.
The mood fits a dimly lit street after a heavy meal, when the air is cold and the pavement is wet underfoot. It is a warm, balsamic blanket that feels at home in that kind of stillness. Composed by Shadi Samra, the fragrance is unapologetically rich and leans fully into its gourmand side. The limitation is the leather and the cypriol. They add dryness, but they also make the blend feel a bit synthetic in the drydown, especially when the vanilla and caramel push forward. If you prefer a completely smooth and natural vanilla, this one might feel a little loud and artificial as it wears on.
