Our take

Oxytocin by Hormone Paris opens with a sharp, almost medicinal lemon that can feel thin and scratchy on the skin. The basil and lavender do not round it out as expected, leaving the first few minutes leaning into a cleaning-product territory that some will find off-putting. It lacks the smooth, expensive transition that usually makes a citrus aromatic feel effortless. The apple in the heart is loud and candy-like, sitting awkwardly next to the dry geranium instead of blending into it. Cinnamon and cloves bring a dusty warmth that competes with the fruit rather than supporting it.

The base is a dense mix of oakmoss and patchouli that feels heavier than the bright opening promised. Cedar and green tea try to lift it, but the musk settles into a powdery blanket that dulls the edges. It is a fragrance of contrasts that never quite resolve into a single identity. The citrus accord fights the warm spicy notes throughout the wear. Green tea is the final impression, a faint, cooling whisper that eventually outlasts the louder fruit and spice.
