The drydown is where it settles into its true character: oakmoss and musk form a clean, earthy base, with amber and vanilla adding a faint sweetness that never quite tips into gourmand territory. The overall picture is that of a leather jacket left on a mossy log after a spring rain, still holding a trace of smoke and the memory of crushed berries.
This is a fragrance that tries to balance freshness with depth, and for the most part it succeeds. It feels moderately synthetic in its opening but smooths out into a surprisingly natural woody musk, more mainstream than niche in its approachable charm.
