Champs Lunaires opens with a burst of tart pomelo that cuts straight through the creamy coconut milk like a blade of citrus lightning, but the tuberose is already there, thick and indolic, refusing to be upstaged. That opening is a bit of a dare, a sharp green floral that says you are either ready for this or you are not. As it settles, the white rose emerges, powdery and slightly shy, while the sandalwood adds a dry, almost papery warmth that keeps the whole thing from tipping into suntan lotion territory. The dry down is where the musk steps forward, clean yet animalic, and the whole composition becomes a sort of silken petal pressed against warm skin, just on the verge of wilting.
The overall character feels like a moonlit garden after a sudden rain, the white flowers drenched and heavy, the earth giving off a faint, humid sweetness. It is natural enough to smell like real blooms but with a polished, niche transparency that never feels synthetic or cheap. That said, the longevity is modest, barely four hours on me, and the sillage hovers close, more of a whispered promise than a declaration. If you want a tuberose that punches through a room, look elsewhere.
This fragrance suits someone who appreciates soft, milky florals with a hint of salt and shadow, a spring afternoon nap in a hammock or a dinner date where you lean in to be smelled. Skip it if you crave projection or if coconut and tuberose together feel too solar. It is a quiet, intimate thing, and that is exactly its charm.
