The dry down is where this fragrance earns its Noir suffix: a cool, mineralic ambroxan core wrapped in dusty patchouli, frankincense, and a whisper of leather, with juniper berry adding a gin-like crispness.
The overall character is a black cashmere hoodie with a single blackberry stain on the collar. It feels deliberately synthetic in a polished, high-end way less about natural realism and more about a smooth, diffusive glow. That said, the longevity and sillage are modest. For a Roja Dove, you might expect more presence, but Elysium Noir stays close and fades within four to five hours. It suits the person who wants a sophisticated, slightly sweet woody aromatic for spring brunches and summer evenings, and who doesn’t mind reapplying.
