Our take

In The Tropics leans heavily on its gourmand side, and that sweetness can feel a bit thick if you prefer airy, sheer compositions. The fruit here is rich and syrupy rather than bright, so the opening does not give you a sharp citrus wake-up call. Instead, the black currant and pink grapefruit arrive with a candied weight that some will find cloying in humid air.

Shinta Judana built this around a heart of agave and rose that pushes the scent toward a floral nectar. The cyclamen adds a soft petal texture, but the blend stays firmly in gourmand territory rather than turning green or aquatic. Sandalwood and musk in the base smooth the edges, giving the fragrance a powdery, woody finish that feels more like a warm skin scent than a fresh breeze.

This is a fragrance for someone who enjoys a sugary floral and wants to smell like a bowl of ripe fruit left in the sun on a patio table, with the juice sticky on the glass and the air thick with heat.
