Our take

The back room of a stone chapel smells of cooled incense and worn wood. Cupola sits in that air. Saffron threads its heat through tangerine peel, while angelica adds a dry, green edge that keeps the opening from turning sweet. Iris arrives with frankincense and labdanum, creating a powdery, resinous heart that feels grounded and calm.

Guaiac wood and amber give the space a warm, earthy weight. Patchouli anchors the base with a dark, musty touch. The scent stays near the body, moving with the wearer instead of announcing itself across the room. Its presence remains steady through the afternoon, carried by the resinous notes that refuse to thin out.

The metallic accord in the record surprises the nose. It cuts across the soft amber and powdery iris with a sharp, cold line that feels out of place in such a warm setting. Violet adds a faint floral shadow, though it never rises above the heavier woods and spices that define the space.

Composed by Antoine Lie and Luca Maffei, this fragrance suits quiet, indoor moments. The metallic streak can feel abrasive against the smooth resins, and the angelica sometimes turns too bitter against the amber.
