Our take

Receiving an ovation from 427 voters with a 4.47 rating, Krizia’s Teatro Alla Scala earns that applause the hard way. It opens with a blast of aldehydes and fruity notes that feel like the house lights snapping on, coriander and bergamot adding a sharp, vintage glamour. That initial sparkle settles into a dense floral heart where beeswax glues together carnation, rose, tuberose, and jasmine into a sticky, almost cloying bouquet. The orris root and geranium keep it from tipping entirely into syrupy territory, but this is not a fresh scent. It is a heavy, animalic beast that wears its 1985 origins proudly, all unapologetic synthetic glamour and natural musk.

The dry down is where the magic turns feral. Civet, incense, and oakmoss wrestle with patchouli and vetiver, creating an impression of an old velvet curtain soaked in sweat and spilled champagne. This is the perfume equivalent of a diva’s dressing room after a triumph: warm, dusty, and faintly indecent. Longevity is strong at nearly 4 out of 5, but sillage sits around 3.5, meaning it clings close once the opening fanfare fades. That restraint is actually a mercy, because this is a winter-only affair (100% winter votes are no accident) best reserved for night events, gala openings, or any moment demanding theatrical self-confidence. If you prefer shy, clean, or crowd pleasing scents, skip it. This one demands an audience.
