Our take

Transilvania opens with a sticky, almost jammy cherry that feels less like fresh fruit and more like the syrup left in a jar of maraschinos, tangled with a dewy rose and a green, slightly herbal angelica. The sweetness quickly thickens as honey and immortelle ooze into the heart, the tuberose and jasmine adding a heady floral cream that borders on cloying if you lean too close. Then the base swoops in like a velvet curtain dropping: civet’s animalic warmth, opoponax’s balsamic resin, oud’s smoky wood, and a powdery vanilla-coumarin blanket that ties it all together.

The overall character is a vampire’s boudoir after a feast, all spilled honey, wilted petals, and warm fur, lit by candlelight. It feels heavy, sweet, and decidedly animalic, more niche than mainstream thanks to that uncaged civet and rugged oud. Longevity is excellent, easily eight hours, though the sillage is just assertive enough to fill a room without yelling.

This is for someone who wants to smell like a Gothic indulgence: a dark, boozy floral with a feral undercurrent. Skip it if you prefer clean, airy scents or if cherry syrups trigger a headache, because the opening can be a blunt sugar rush. Wear it for crisp autumn nights, a formal winter dinner, or any occasion where you want to be remembered rather than just smelled. Can a fragrance truly smell both decadent and unhinged? Transilvania answers with a honeyed growl. 🧛‍♀️🍒
