Our take

It opens with a cranberry that is less tart fruit and more like the sticky sweetness of a dried cranberry soaked in ginger syrup, pink grapefruit adding a sharp citrus fizz that quickly fades. The heart is where things get interesting: clary sage and lavender give a brief aromatic clarity, but labdanum pulls it back into a sticky, ambered warmth that feels syrupy and dense. The base layers opoponax and benzoin over a woody foundation of cedar and guaiac, the musk rounding it out into something skin-hugging and soft.

This is the olfactory equivalent of a leather armchair in a cabin with a gas fireplace, all cozy and synthetic in the best way, but not pretending to be natural or refined. It is a mainstream designer amber bomb, unapologetically sweet and balsamic, with a spicy fruity top that promises more than it delivers. The numbers tell the real story: longevity barely pushes past three hours, and sillage is a whisper, which is tragic because the drydown is genuinely pleasant. It wears like a good dinner guest who leaves too early.

Best for transitional weather, spring and fall especially, and it works as an evening cocktail scent for a guy in his twenties or thirties who wants something approachable but not childish. Skip it if you value projection or have a long day ahead, or if you find syrupy amber cloying. This is a solid 4.0 out of 5 on charm alone, but the performance is a 2.9, and that gap stings.
