Afeef opens with a bright, almost sticky peach that’s quickly dusted with pink pepper and a wisp of bergamot. The fruit doesn’t read as juicy, it’s more like a dried apricot glaze smeared over a fistful of tuberose. That white floral heart comes on thick, jasmine and orange blossom pulling the sweetness into a powdery, indolic haze that teeters between lush and cloying. As it dries, the praline and sandalwood step in to soften the edges, amber and patchouli adding a warm, faintly animalic base that keeps it from floating away into pure candy floss. The overall character is a plush velvet pouch stuffed with sugared petals and a touch of wood.
