Our take

Kat Burki Freesia & Pink Grapefruit opens with a bright spray of orange, bergamot, and grapefruit lifted by aldehydes. The citrus is clean and immediate, giving way to a heart of jasmine, freesia, violet, lily, and rose. The floral blend stays light rather than heavy, with freesia and violet carrying a soft powdery touch that keeps the jasmine from dominating. The aldehydic edge adds a faint sparkle that suits daytime wear, and the overall impression is fresh, aromatic, and easy to place among modern feminine florals.

The drydown settles into palisander rosewood, pine, sandalwood, and musk. The wood notes give structure without weight, and the pine adds a green, slightly resinous line that distinguishes the base from a standard creamy finish. Musk and sandalwood smooth the transition, leaving a clean, woody floral that feels composed and balanced. The limitation here is the aldehydes. They create lift at the start, but they also give the blend a slightly synthetic edge that some will notice against the natural floral heart.
