Our take

Wild Cats is for the person who wants to smell expensive at a Sunday brunch, not the one trying to seduce a room at midnight. The opening hits with a rush of plum, raspberry, peach, and mandarin orange, but that fruit never settles. It stays slightly sharp, like the skin of a peach rubbed against a wool sweater. The real argument for this scent is its refusal to be a simple daytime floral. The rose, jasmine, and orange blossom in the heart are draped over a base that feels more like a cashmere wrap than a heavy fur coat. This is where the fragrance makes its case: it is plush. The vanilla, musk, sandalwood, and cedar in the base give it a powdery, musky depth that clings to cotton and linen. You catch wafts of it when you move your arms, a soft, sweet heat that feels intentional rather than overpowering.

The drydown is the only part of the perfume that truly matters. The fruit eventually recedes, leaving a mix of sandalwood and vanilla that feels like warm skin after a long afternoon in the sun. It is a very specific kind of comfort. The fragrance remains present through the heat of the day, staying close to the fabric of a shirt or the crook of an elbow. It never screams for attention, but it doesn’t hide under the bed either. It is a presence that requires proximity to be fully appreciated. The sillage is a quiet sort of confidence, one that invites a person to lean in rather than announcing itself from across a courtyard.

The limitation here is a lack of evolution. Once the drydown settles, it stays exactly where it landed. The plum and raspberry are gone, and what is left is a very pretty, very safe vanilla-musk that begins to feel a bit one-dimensional. It is a scent for a specific kind of day, the kind where you want to feel polished but have no intention of staying out past sunset. It simply doesn't have the range to handle a change in temperature or a shift in mood.
