Our take

There is a peculiar brilliance in how this perfume announces itself. The opening is a squirt of honey and pineapple so ripe it is almost bruised, but the musk already lurks beneath, thick and unwashed. That tropical sweetness does not last long. Jasmine and nutmeg slink in, pushing the fruit aside, and patchouli adds a dusty, rooty weight. Then the base descends like a fog. Civet brings the animal, the kind that makes you check under your fingernails. Vanilla, caramel, and tonka sweeten the beast, but never tame it. Ambrette and rum add a sticky, ambered warmth that clings to the skin.

The whole effect is like a velvet-lined den where someone has let a wild fox sleep on the cushions. It is sweet, yes, but it is a gamy, powdered sweetness, the sort that feels both expensive and faintly rotten. That is the point. It is unapologetically animalic and gourmand at once, and it works best when you are not afraid to be a little filthy. The sillage is politely close, a three out of five, so wear it for yourself. Longevity is decent, four hours before it becomes a skin-scent.

This is for the person who wants to smell edible but dangerous, who enjoys a fragrance that makes others lean in and then hesitate. Skip it if you prefer clean musks or shy sweetness. Wear it in deep winter or cool autumn nights, when the cold air can soften its growl. Do you really want to smell like someone else’s idea of clean?
