Character
Sunlight warms the terrace stones while Italian lemon and grapefruit ripple through the air, pink pepper landing in bright bursts beside them. African ginger stirs underneath, adding a clean bite that keeps the citrus from floating away entirely. Indian jasmine arrives quietly, its petals softening the edges without turning the scene sweet. The scent remains present well after the morning coffee is finished, yet it never crosses the space between two chairs.
Ginger and jasmine hold the center as the air shifts. The lemon recedes, leaving a faint memory of peel on the fingers, while the pepper settles into a gentle heat. Incense begins to rise from the background, thin and gray, curling around the amber that grows warmer with each passing hour. The amber does not rush; it waits until the brighter notes have said what they need to say.
A breeze moves across the table, carrying the incense and amber just far enough to be noticed by the person sitting nearby. The citrus has folded into the ginger now, and the jasmine sits low, more felt than clearly named. The stones still hold the day's warmth, and the scent stays with them, anchored and steady, refusing to vanish when the air stirs.
The ginger keeps its spark while the amber deepens, and the incense traces a line through both, dry and faintly resinous, as if the terrace itself has decided to hold onto the morning a little longer, letting the air keep its shape while the light continues to move across the surface of the table
