Our take

The table is sticky with melted sugar and the air is warm. A bowl sits in front of you, piled high with pale vanilla ice cream that smells exactly like the real thing, cool and milky. A swirl of whipped cream rests on top, airy and rich. Beneath the dairy, the heart of the fragrance reveals a ripe banana, soft and yellow, leaning into that creamy sweetness without becoming artificial. It smells like a treat you are about to eat, the kind of indulgence that requires a spoon and a napkin.

As the initial chill of the ice cream fades, the banana deepens and the cherry note begins to unfold. It is a dark, syrupy fruitiness that sinks into the vanilla, turning the scent heavier and more resonant. The lactonic quality remains, but it now feels like the base of a sundae that has started to melt into a single pool of flavor. The cherry provides a slight tartness against the sugar, grounding the fruit so it does not float away. It becomes a dense, jammy layer that clings to the skin, rich with the accord of sweet vanilla and dark fruit.

The whipped cream has vanished entirely, leaving the banana and cherry to merge with the vanilla in a slow, syrupy blend. The scent is now purely the bottom of the bowl, where the fruit juices have mixed with the melting remains of the dairy. It is a thick, fruity sweetness that feels heavy in the air, the vanilla acting as a soft blanket over the bright cherry. The banana lingers as a mellow, yellow presence, rounding out the sharp edges of the syrup, creating a dessert that continues to sit there, warm and inviting, the sugar hanging in the space between you and the empty dish.
