Our take

Orange and cassis burst out first, bright and tart, with rose already pressing through before the citrus has a chance to settle. Violet takes over soon after, soft and powdery, lending a cool petal texture that keeps the fruit from feeling like candy. The rose here is not dewy and fresh. It is dry, almost chalky, and it pulls the whole composition toward a vintage dressing table rather than a garden path. Patchouli and musk anchor the later stages with an earthy, woody weight that feels grounded and a bit serious. The blend reads as aromatic and slightly dusty, a floral that chose elegance over airiness and refuses to smile too widely.

This is a scent for someone who enjoys a classic powdery silhouette and does not mind a fragrance that announces its age. The orange and cassis give it a lively opening, but the drydown is firmly rooted in that old-school violet and rose combination that dominated decades ago. The limitation is the patchouli. It arrives heavy and blunt, lacking the polished refinement found in more expensive interpretations of this exact floral wood profile. It can feel rough around the edges, especially when the musk tries to smooth the transition and cannot quite manage the task.
