Cardamome
Fragrance notes
Character
Cardamome by Olibanum. feels like standing in a sunlit courtyard where stone walls hold the day's warmth. The air is dry and clear, shaped by the presence of cedar and the brisk lift of lavender. It suits a morning walk through a city that has not yet grown loud, where the light sits evenly on every surface.
Sylvie Jourdet composed this release in 2022. The cardamom here is not sweet or candied. It carries a dry, almost resinous edge that keeps the blend from leaning into comfort. The lavender adds a clean, herbal facet that feels more architectural than floral.
Patchouli anchors the blend with an earthy weight. It is present without dominating, giving the cedar a darker companion that grounds the brighter herbs. The result is a fragrance that stays close to the skin and moves with the body rather than announcing itself across a room.
The limitation sits in the simplicity. With only a few notes to carry the composition, the scent does not shift or reveal new facets as the day continues. It stays honest and linear, which some will appreciate, but others may find it too narrow for regular wear.
