Our take

Crystal Bomb does not hide its synthetic side. The raspberry and violet leaves carry a candied sharpness that feels manufactured rather than fresh, and the vanilla in the base leans toward a sugary, powdery sweetness that can overwhelm the woods if the air is warm. It is composed by Michel Almairac and launched in 2019, but the execution here favors bold impact over subtle blending.

The opening pairs rose with that bright raspberry, creating a fruity floral start that quickly deepens. Cedar enters soon after, adding a dry, straight line through the middle that keeps the florals from floating entirely. It is a clear transition rather than a slow fade, moving the scent from bright to grounded in a short span.

Oud and white musk anchor the finish, giving the vanilla a resinous, musky bed to rest on. The scent stays present through a full day of wear and announces itself clearly in shared spaces, carried by the musk and the weight of the oud. The raspberry lingers longer than expected, threading through the woods instead of vanishing after the first hour.

This is a fragrance for those who enjoy oud paired with fruit and do not mind a sweet, powdery drydown. It suits cooler weather and evening plans where a bold presence is welcome. The rose remains the thread that ties the whole composition together.
