Our take

Grapefruit opens this composition with a sharp, clean citrus bite that cuts through the heavier elements waiting underneath. It provides an immediate brightness that keeps the early minutes from feeling too dense.

Benzoin and labdanum form a resinous, balsamic heart alongside iris and rose. The iris adds a soft, powdery texture while the rose stays muted, letting the warm, sticky resins take the lead. Leather, Indonesian patchouli leaf, and Texas cedar anchor the base with a woody, earthy weight that feels dry and slightly rough around the edges.

The resin and leather notes sit comfortably near the skin without pushing outward. The scent maintains a steady presence for a reasonable stretch of time, staying personal rather than expansive. This closeness works well in smaller spaces or cooler weather, where the warmth of the amber and spice feels appropriate against a jacket or a crisp atmosphere.

Synthetic facets in the grapefruit and benzoin give the blend a harsh, plastic edge that never quite smooths out. The materials lack the natural richness found in similar amber leather fragrances, leaving a chemical sharpness that distracts from the wood and resin.
