Our take

Hydra Science opens with a thin, slightly sharp carnation that feels more like a whisper than a statement. The reseda adds a green, almost watery edge that does not quite settle, leaving the first few minutes feeling a bit scattered and unsure of their own weight. You are standing on a sunlit terrace where the air is warm but not heavy, and the garden below is thick with blooming tuberose and Moroccan rose. Honeysuckle winds through a trellis near your elbow, its sweetness lifted by the cool, damp breath of cyclamen. The flowers do not sit still. A faint marine accord moves through them like a breeze coming off a lake, keeping the petals from feeling too dense. White cedar grounds the scene with a dry, pale wood that sits just behind the blossoms, while musk softens the edges so the air feels lived in rather than staged. Powder lingers in the light, catching on the sleeves of a linen shirt as you lean over the rail to watch the water shift under the trees, the scent changing with every small movement of the air
