Our take

Idol opens with a bright mix of peppermint and apple that feels crisp and slightly candied because of the citruses with sugar. The peppermint is noticeable without feeling medicinal, and the apple adds a clean, juicy edge that keeps the start from leaning too heavy. As the fragrance moves forward, lavender and sandalwood take over. The lavender carries a soft, dry herbal tone that pairs well with the creamy smoothness of the sandalwood. Together they create a heart that is woody and aromatic rather than floral. The base settles into musk, milk mousse, and coumarin. Musk adds a gentle skin-like softness, while the milk mousse gives a whipped, airy sweetness that feels more like a texture than a heavy dessert note. Coumarin brings a mild vanilla warmth that ties the lighter top to the deeper drydown.

The overall impression is fresh, green, powdery, and lightly spicy, with the citrus fading to let the wood and musk lead. It suits daytime wear in cool, breezy weather where the mint and lavender feel natural. The one drawback is that the milk mousse and coumarin can make the drydown feel a bit too similar to many mainstream releases, so it lacks a distinct personality once the initial peppermint and apple step back.
