Our take

Marseille opens with a brisk citrus pop, neroli and orange blossom that smell less like a sunny orchard and more like the crushed, faintly bitter petals left on pavement after a spring market. The heart pulls in a peculiar, almost sterile clean musk, cosmone, that feels synthetic in the best way: like freshly washed linen drying in the shade of a city balcony. Petalia, that synthetic rose-petal accord, adds a soft, powdery texture that turns the whole thing into a cloud of white floral dust, barely clinging to skin. It dries down to a woody, ambery whisper, a ghost of itself.

The overall character is a sun-bleached limestone wall, warm and rough, with one stray orange blossom vine climbing it. It is light, airy, and distinctly synthetic but in a deliberate, artistic manner, clearly niche but not challenging. With a longevity of about three to four hours and sillage that stays intimate to the point of secrecy, this is a fragrance you wear for yourself, not for the room. It suits those who love delicate, clean white florals and subtle musks, but those who crave projection or a sweet, syrupy richness should look elsewhere. Wear it on a warm spring morning, a linen shirt, a bike ride along the coast, or a quiet afternoon at a café where you want to smell like a breath of fresh air rather than a statement.
