Our take

Pandora Selective Base 228 opens with Sicilian mandarin. The citrus is bright and immediate, giving the first moments a clean, fresh lift before the rest of the composition takes over.

The heart brings apricot, peach, pink peony and Damask rose together. The fruit is soft and ripe, while the rose and peony add a gentle floral layer. The overall impression is sweet, fruity and slightly powdery, with a lactonic smoothness that keeps the flowers from feeling sharp.

Ambroxan and musk form the base. The ambroxan adds an amber-like warmth that deepens the fruit, and the musk creates a soft, musky finish. The powdery accord stays present here, so the drydown feels consistent with the heart rather than shifting into something new. The scent remains sweet and close to its floral fruity character throughout.

The fruit and rose combination leans heavily on familiar notes, so the composition does not offer much that feels distinctive. It is pleasant and easy to wear, but it lacks a clear point of view that would make it memorable compared to other sweet floral musk fragrances.
