Équilibre opens with tea rose and palisander rosewood. The rose is fresh and slightly green, while the rosewood adds a dry, polished wood tone that keeps the flowers from feeling soft. This opening feels clean and composed, moving quickly into the heart of the fragrance.
In the heart, guaiac wood and cedar take over. The cedar is sharp and dry, and the guaiac wood brings a resinous, slightly smoky weight. These woods sit close to the skin and give the composition a firm structure. The floral aspect recedes but does not disappear, lingering beneath the timber notes as a faint, powdery veil.
Vanilla anchors the base. It is warm and smooth, rounding out the dry woods without becoming sweet or heavy. The powdery accord remains present throughout, tying the rose and the vanilla together. The overall impression is dry wood first, then rose, then a quiet vanilla finish. It suits a cool morning when the air is crisp and the light is pale, with bare branches outside a window and a wool coat pulled tight against the wind.
