Resplendent opens in a dim study where a fire has just been lit. Saffron and frankincense rise together, the saffron bright and metallic, the resin dry and clean. A thread of absinthe runs through them, herbal and bitter, keeping the spices from feeling heavy. The air feels curated rather than casual, each element placed with intention.
As the room warms, Chinese osmanthus brings a soft apricot roundness that meets Egyptian jasmine and Indian tuberose. The flowers are lush but not overwhelming, supported by the spice that lingers from the opening. Tonka bean and labdanum begin to show in the background, adding a resinous weight that pulls the florals toward the base. Amber ties the composition together, smooth and golden, while a leather accord gives the blend a faint, polished edge.
The windows are fogged, the wood floor is cold underfoot, and a heavy wool coat hangs near the door with saffron and amber clinging to the lapels.
