Our take

Xandria opens with a boozy slap of rum and a surprisingly tart apple, the palisander rosewood adding a floral-woody shimmer that keeps the sweetness from cloying. The heart is pure Ceylon cinnamon, not the dusty baking kind but a warm, resinous spice that wraps around tonka bean like a scarf. As it dries down, the oud and guaiac wood emerge, earthy and dry, with amber and musk softening the edges into a powdery, almost suede-like finish. This is the scent of a tartan blanket thrown over a leather armchair, a single ember glowing in a grate, a half-empty glass of spiced rum sweating on the armrest. It is undeniably cozy, leaning heavy and sweet, with a natural, polished feel that sits somewhere between niche and a high-end candle. The numbers don’t lie: longevity is average at around four to five hours, and sillage stays close to the skin after the first hour, which is a disappointment given the richness of the composition. This is a fragrance for cool, overcast evenings, best worn by someone who wants to smell like a well-stocked hidden bar rather than a night out. Skip it if you crave projection or fresh air. Xandria is a retreat, not a proclamation.
