Series 5 Sherbet: Peppermint
Fragrance notes
Character
This is mint stripped of its chewing gum innocence and sent to a finishing school for spicy minimalists. Comme des Garçons Peppermint opens with a sharp, almost medicinal slap of fresh mint, the kind that clears your sinuses and your head in one cold breath. Then the heart stirs. White pepper and cardamom add a nervy, aromatic warmth, while red berries and rose hover like a blush that never quite deepens into sweetness. The drydown is a soft, musky amber haze that feels less like dessert and more like the last trace of a crushed leaf on your wrist. The overall impression is a greenhouse in December: icy glass, brittle stems, and the ghost of a flower you almost smelled. This is deliberately synthetic, clean in the way a surgical tool is clean, and distinctly niche. It has no interest in cozying up to your skin. Longevity is a genuine issue, about two hours before it retreats to a whisper, and sillage stays close, so you wear it for yourself, not for applause. Best for a hot summer morning when you want to feel awake, alive, and slightly untouchable. Skip it if you demand projection or crave candy-like gourmands. This is a peppermint for people who prefer their nostalgia sharp, blurred, and vanishing.
