The dry down is where Tabac D’Or earns its name: a rich, vanillic tobacco wrapped in tonka and a whisper of patchouli, neither heavy nor cloying but undeniably golden.
This is the scent of a caramelized pipe tobacco left to cool on a velvet cushion in a mahogany library. It feels balsamic and sweet, with enough spice to keep it from collapsing into dessert. The construction is polished but not squeaky clean. A slight synthetic edge in the opening is the one rough seam, and the sillage sits politely close: a 3.85 that hugs rather than announces.
