Pour Homme Intenso smells like a hayloft before it smells like a fragrance, at least once the top notes clear. Lavender, basil and marigold open green and a little sharp, water notes adding an aquatic edge alongside the herbs, cool and slightly damp against all that green.
Tobacco and hay dominate the heart, dry and a little sweet, with clary sage and bran giving it an almost bread-like, agricultural quality unlike most fresh aromatic men's fragrances. Geranium threads a rosy, green note through the top and into the heart, softening the drier tobacco and hay just enough to keep it wearable.
Sandalwood, cypress and amber close things out, with labdanum and musk giving it a warm, slightly resinous finish that settles the hay and tobacco down. Staying power is moderate, a fair, middling pace that neither rushes off nor lingers stubbornly, and the sillage stays modest, close enough for a coworker at the next desk to notice. Fall is clearly its best season, with the hay and tobacco feeling exactly right against cooler air, and winter working nearly as well, though summer heat makes the hay note feel a little strange.
