Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette
Fragrance notes
Character
Acqua di Giò Profondo Eau de Toilette opens with a sharp, almost aggressive grapefruit and lemon peel, punched up by a blur of spices that feel more like heat than any identifiable clove or nutmeg. Within minutes, the calone rushes in like a wave of chlorinated pool water, flattening the citrus into a slick, ozonic shimmer. Lavender tries to ground it, but it’s quickly swallowed by cypress and a synthetic mineral accord that smells less like sea cliffs and more like wet concrete after a summer downpour. The dry down is a woody patchouli skeleton, dusty and polite, with none of the depth you’d hope for from a Profondo flanker. The overall character is that of a glass of ice water left out on a dock: crisp and clear at first, then tepid and forgettable. It’s undeniably synthetic, but not in a cheap way, more like a well-executed chemistry experiment that forgot to include soul. Given the 2.88 longevity and skinny 2.45 sillage, this is a skin scent within two hours, barely. It suits someone who wants a barely-there freshness for a humid 3 PM errand, one that won’t offend anyone or linger. Skip it if you crave presence or complexity. Wear it for a quick beach trip where the ocean does most of the heavy lifting, then shower it off.
