Our take

Imperium opens like a citrus sledgehammer grapefruit and lime leading the charge with a sharp green bite from galbanum and artemisia. That initial blast is bright and bracingly aromatic, almost synthetic in its precision, but it softens quickly into a surprisingly complex heart. Vetiver and pink pepper twist through a tangle of dark cypriol and juniper, while a whisper of black currant and apple adds a faint fruity sweetness that never tips into cloying. The base settles into a dusty leather softened by benzoin and vanilla, with ambergris lending a warm skin like finish. This is the scent of a man stepping out of a rain soaked forest into a dimly lit bar, still smelling of green earth and bitter herbs, but with a polished amber glow on his collar.

The overall character leans woody and amber with a fresh spicy snap, more mainstream than niche but executed with confidence. Its weakness is plain to smell, longevity barely scrapes three hours and sillage hovers close to the skin after the first hour. For a 4.34 rating the opening is genuinely impressive, but the fade is frustrating. Best worn on a bright spring morning or a warm summer afternoon, it suits someone who wants a crisp citrus aromatic that stays grounded in vetiver and leather. Skip it if you need a long haul performer or prefer heavy oriental sweetness. Imperium is a quick, satisfying burst of energy that evaporates like morning dew, lovely while it lasts but gone before you make an impression.
