The courtyard is quiet after the restaurants close. A man leans against the iron railing with a glass of bitter citrus soda in one hand. Grapefruit and lime cut through the warm air first, bright and sharp, while thyme and galbanum add a clean green edge that feels deliberate.
Juniper berries and black currant drift upward next, joined by a slice of apple and the soft lift of lily-of-the-valley. Cedar and vetiver ground the fruit so the air stays dry. Pink pepper lands in small bursts, and a trace of rose keeps the blend from leaning too heavily into the woods.
Labdanum and amber settle against the skin as the night deepens. Vanilla and benzoin smooth the edges, and a faint line of leather gives the blend a polished finish.
