Our take

Lavender and bergamot open with a brisk, almost clinical freshness, like stepping into a barbershop that also sells dried roses. The clove heart arrives quickly, spicing up the lavender before the rose emerges not as a dewy bouquet but as a crushed dried petal, dusty and vaguely medicinal. Underneath, patchouli and vetiver ground everything in earthy woodiness, with musk softening the edges into a skin scent that feels more like a memory than a declaration.

This is a woody floral musk that plays like a thrifted tweed jacket: handsome, a little stiff, but genuinely warm once it settles against you. The problem is it evaporates faster than you’d like. Longevity clocks in around three hours, and sillage stays an arm’s length at best, so don’t expect any heads to turn. That middling performance is the only thing keeping it from being a steal at the price.

It smells natural enough, leaning mainstream but with enough clove and rose bite to feel slightly off beat, like a department store fragrance that wandered into a spice market. Perfect for crisp autumn afternoons or a chilly winter commute, worn best by someone who wants a quiet, gentlemanly presence without shouting. Skip it if you need projection for a night out or if rose and clove together read as too potpourri. It is a soft, woolen blanket of a scent, and blankets are meant to be worn close.
