Antiheros
Fragrance notes
Character
Antiheros opens with a lavender that is less pastoral field and more pressed into a modern, antiseptic powder. This is not the lavender of a French countryside, but a spiky, aromatic jolt that quickly recedes into a dry cedar skeleton. Antoine Maisondieu’s composition keeps the musk close and clean, almost clinical, with a whisper of fresh spice that fades before it can excite. The whole thing feels like a well-made but intentionally understated office chair: comfortable, professional, and forgettable the moment you stand up.
Its character is a faded Polaroid of a suit jacket left on a bench in the midday sun. There is an herbal sharpness that cuts the woody base, but the longevity is a dismal 2.92, and the sillage hovers just above a whisper. It wears close to the skin, a faint powdery ghost that disappears after two hours. For a fragrance promising an antihero, it lacks the grit or grievance to make that name stick. It is not heavy, not sweet, not synthetic in a glaring way, but it is politely lifeless.
This is a perfect dumb reach for a warm spring morning when you want to smell clean in a lavender soap sort of way, nothing more. Skip it if you demand presence, projection, or any narrative arc. It suits the person who sprays once before a brunch they would rather not be at, and who will forget they are wearing it by the time the coffee arrives.
