Our take

Silhouette is an oriental floral that opens with a brisk, almost tart bite of black currant and green apple, the citrus of mandarin and grapefruit adding a shimmer of light before the green notes fade into the background. The heart blooms with a classic trio of jasmine, freesia, and rose, all very polite, almost demure, dusted with a powdery softness that suggests a vintage compact mirror left open on a vanity. As it dries down, the base reveals its real ambition: tonka bean, amber, and musk weave together with a whisper of Siam benzoin and ambrette, creating a warm, slightly nutty sweetness that is more cashmere scarf than fur coat. A hint of oakmoss keeps it from feeling cloying.

But here is the honest problem. This fragrance wears like a memory of itself. The longevity hovers around two and a half hours, and the sillage is barely a handshake. You will catch fleeting wafts after reapplying, but it never settles into a presence. It feels perfectly natural, almost shy, which is charming for the right mood but frustrating if you want your perfume to announce you. The numbers do not lie.

This is a scent for cool autumn afternoons or crisp winter nights, when you want something close and comforting rather than commanding. Reach for it when you are reading by a fire or heading to an intimate dinner. Skip it if you need projection, or if you prefer your florals to have a sharper edge. For a soft moment, it is lovely. For a statement, it is merely a whisper.
