Our take

Covet Pure Bloom opens with a mandarin orange so tart and fleeting it feels like a wisp of citrus before the real players step in. Tuberose and jasmine hit center stage immediately, creamy and indolic, with plum adding a syrupy sweetness that teeters on overripe. The coconut here is not a sunbathing tanning oil affair but a dusty, almost cosmetic powder that settles into the orris root and sandalwood. What you get is a white floral that wears its sweetness like a sheer blouse, translucent but with a faint animalic musk clinging to the hem.

This is the scent of a vintage silk scarf left in a beach house closet, absorbing salt air and dried petals. It feels synthetic in the way supermarket flowers feel synthetic, pretty and accessible but lacking depth. The longevity is a genuine disappointment, three hours at best before it retreats to a soft powdery skin scent, and the sillage hovers politely at arm’s length. That 3.27 average? Spot on. It works best in spring daylight, on a woman who wants something sweet but not cloying, floral but not grandmotherly. Skip it if you crave projection or any evolution past the first hour the drydown is a flat, musky amber with barely a whisper of coconut.

A cheerful, inoffensive daytime spritz for brunch or a garden party, but do not expect it to last through dinner.
