Our take

Lightning by Kilesa can feel abrasive to anyone expecting a smooth, polished citrus. The eucalyptus and buchu hit hard at the start, joined by sharp lemon and lime that sting the nose rather than refresh it. Spearmint and pine push that edge further, so the opening smells more like crushed leaves on hot pavement than a clean morning shower.

The heart settles into lavender and geranium, but the thyme keeps things rough and medicinal. Sandalwood and guaiac wood try to smooth the ride, though the oud and amber add a heavy, resinous weight that fights the bright top. It is aromatic and woody, with a camphor sting that never fully fades into the powdery base.

This is not a gentle green fragrance. It is loud, spicy, and deliberately rough around the edges, suited to someone who wants a scent that feels physical and untamed. Those who prefer soft, rounded citrus should look elsewhere. The drydown rests on a dark, persistent oud.
