Our take

Light My Fire opens with a rush of tobacco and hay that feels like stepping into a sun-baked barn where honey has dripped onto dry straw. The cumin prickles warm and slightly animalic, coaxing out a sweaty, human edge before the patchouli and birch step in to anchor it all in shadowy wood. As it settles, vanilla and tonka bean soften the rough corners, while heliotrope adds a whisper of almond-sweet powder that floats just above the earthy base. The overall impression is of a well-worn leather armchair pulled up to a hearth, the air thick with pipe smoke and a forgotten jar of honey gone sticky on the mantel.

This is a heavy, almost cloying affair. The sweetness is dense and demanding, with that cumin note wavering between intriguing and a little too unwashed for comfort. Natural enough in its tobacco and hay facets, but the patchouli and vanilla lean synthetic in a way that feels deliberately bold rather than artisanal. Niche through and through, but not subtle.

It suits you if you want to smell like someone who stays up late by the fire, committing to the full dessert course. Skip it if you prefer crisp, clean air or if your skin turns sweet notes into a cough syrup fog. Best worn on a cold autumn evening or a bitter winter night, where its warmth can actually find room to breathe. With longevity well past dinner and only moderate sillage, it wraps close like a wool scarf, not a shout. Worth sniffing, but only the patient need apply.
